Haiwen Edward Liu appointed to Expert Advisory Group on Legal and Dispute Resolution Services海問律師事務(wù)所香港辦公室合伙人劉洋律師獲委任為法律及爭議解決服務(wù)專家咨詢組成員。此任命由香港特別行政區(qū)律政司司長林定國資深大律師于2024年10月4日做出。Edward Liu, Partner at Haiwen & Partners LLP, has been appointed as a member of the Expert Advisory Group on Legal and Dispute Resolution Services. This appointment was made on 4 October 2024 by Paul Lam SC, Secretary for Justice at the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.專家咨詢組是由香港特區(qū)政府律政司新成立的委員會，旨在就法律和爭議解決事務(wù)提供高層次的建議，目標(biāo)是提升香港作為在亞太區(qū)乃至全球的國際法律與爭議解決服務(wù)中心的領(lǐng)先地位。該專家咨詢組由香港訴訟、仲裁和調(diào)解領(lǐng)域的從業(yè)者組成，任期自2024年10月4日開始，為期三年。The Expert Advisory Group is a newly established committee formed by the Department of Justice to provide high-level advice on legal and dispute resolution matters. Its aim is to enhance Hong Kong's position as an international hub for legal and dispute resolution services, both regionally and globally. The group comprises leading practitioners from the litigation, arbitration, and mediation sectors in Hong Kong. The current term began on 4 October 2024, with appointed members serving for a period of three years.劉洋律師表示：“我很榮幸獲委任為專家咨詢組成員，并有機(jī)會協(xié)助律政司推廣法律及爭議解決服務(wù)。我期待通過積極參與討論，引入新思路，并將利益相關(guān)者的觀點(diǎn)融入我們的交流中。我亦期待與其他成員共同努力，確保專家咨詢組能夠有效協(xié)助律政司實(shí)現(xiàn)相應(yīng)目標(biāo)。”Mr. Liu stated, “I am honoured to be appointed as a member of the Expert Advisory Group and to assist the Department of Justice in promoting dispute resolution in Hong Kong. Together with my fellow members, I aim to ensure that the Expert Advisory Group effectively assists the DOJ to achieve the objectives outlined in its terms of reference.”在此次任命之前，劉洋律師曾擔(dān)任仲裁推廣咨詢委員會成員，專注于提升香港作為亞太地區(qū)國際仲裁服務(wù)領(lǐng)先中心的地位。他還曾是調(diào)解督導(dǎo)委員會的成員，旨在推動香港調(diào)解的發(fā)展。隨著新專家顧問小組的成立取代了這兩個(gè)委員會，劉律師將能夠在此前的基礎(chǔ)上，進(jìn)一步增強(qiáng)香港在仲裁和調(diào)解領(lǐng)域的國際聲譽(yù)。Prior to this appointment, Mr. Liu served as a member of the Advisory Committee on the Promotion of Arbitration, which focused on enhancing Hong Kong's status as a leading centre for international arbitration services in the Asia-Pacific region. He was also a member of the Steering Committee on Mediation, which aimed to advance the development of mediation in Hong Kong. With the establishment of the new Expert Advisory Group, which replaces these committees, Mr. Liu is well-positioned to build on his previous contributions and further strengthen Hong Kong's reputation in both arbitration and mediation.此外，劉洋律師最近還被任命為第三者資助仲裁及調(diào)解的咨詢機(jī)構(gòu)的成員。該機(jī)構(gòu)負(fù)責(zé)監(jiān)察和檢討第三者資助仲裁和調(diào)解條文的運(yùn)作，包括《第三者資助仲裁實(shí)務(wù)守則》的實(shí)施情況。Additionally, Mr. Liu has recently been appointed as a member of the Advisory Body on Third Party Funding of Arbitration and Mediation.
